Palm Sunset

A commissioned painting for a family friend. They asked if I could create a striking sunset to go in their dining room. After showing me some pictures of the kind of thing they were after, I ran through some ideas with them and then got to being creative!

I blended the paint from light to dark working away from the setting sun, they weren’t after anything too realistic, just bright and artistic and so only elements of small detail were used to define the clouds and waves in the ocean.
